I just got an ipod, but i have windows so it wont let me get itunes. what should i do?

That is a major problem with the iPod. Even though it has to capability to be used as a thumb drive it requires a file created by iTunes to be able to play any loaded music. Bring it back and get a different mp player. Find one that does not require a specific program to load it.
